When I woke up this morning at 4am the blizzard was already raging, and by the time we were up and dressed and ready to head outside to clear off our driveway and deck, it took both David and I, working without breaks, a total of an hour and a half. And we didn't finish it.

Then we poured maple syrup on a particularly fantastic lump of snow and made maple candy.

And when we came inside, of course, hot chocolate was in order. Here's my recipe for a chocolatey, rich, inexpensive drink.
Heat 3 cups of milk in a saucepan and whisk in 1/2 a box of chocolate pudding mix. Warm and serve. Since pudding mix can be as low as maybe 50 cents a box, and each box will give you six 1 cup servings of hot chocolate, it's really a pretty economical way to enjoy our favourite in-from-the-cold drink. And it's nice and creamy.
